Other Varieties of Tea: Ginseng and Buckwheat

Nowadays, people pay incredibly close attention to what they’re putting in their bodies. Because the regular consumption of tea has shown itself to be immensely beneficial to people’s health, it’s taken on an almost mystical quality among its drinkers. Though our passion is Pu-erh tea, with this blog post we'll begin to describe different, less frequently discussed varieties of tea and their benefits.

Ginseng Tea

Ginseng tea is very popular in China, and is uniquely revered for its medicinal qualities. In particular, it helps to improve blood circulation, and so it is therefore recommended that those with high blood pressure drink this tea in moderation. Additionally, it is said that this powerful tea is especially effective in the prevention of cancer.

Note: This is not to be confused with Ginseng flavored or scented teas, which are not made from the Ginseng root and feature the essence of Ginseng without possessing its potent effects.

Buckwheat Tea

Buckwheat tea has the unique benefit of lowering both blood pressure and blood sugar. Therefore, regular intake (especially after meals) will lead to weight loss, and will help you to maintain a healthier diet. People with low blood pressure or low blood sugar, however, should be sure to drink this tea judiciously.
